Elon Musk Backtracks on Trump-Epstein Claims
Elon Musk has walked back explosive accusations he made about President Donald Trump, just days after leaving his role as head of the Department of Government Efficiency under Trump’s administration.
Initially seen as close allies, Musk and Trump’s relationship soured when Musk accused Trump on social media of being linked to Jeffrey Epstein’s files. He called one of Trump’s bills a “disgusting abomination” and claimed the real reason Epstein’s files hadn’t been released was Trump’s alleged involvement. Musk offered no proof and later deleted the posts.
On June 11, Musk admitted on X that he “went too far” and expressed regret over the posts. In response, Trump said he no longer considers Musk an ally, claiming he had helped Musk in the past but has no plans to speak with him again.
The once-strong partnership between two of the world’s most influential figures appears to have ended in dramatic fashion.
