Eye-opening new poll reveals how many Americans believe Trump is ‘covering up’ Epstein files

The figures aren’t looking good for the Trump administration as confidence falters over the Epstein files

A new poll has revealed what the US public really thinks of the Trump administration following the controversy around the Jeffrey Epstein files.

The latest results of the new poll, which asked people their thoughts about the Jeffrey Epstein investigation, does not make for good reading for Trump and his team.

Trump has recently blasted friends and former supporters of his for questioning why the full files on the Epstein sex trafficking investigation or the rumored ‘client list’ have not been released yet.

The DOJ announced last week that it had found ‘no incriminating ‘client list”, which brought up big questions marks after members of Trump’s administration had previously expressed their certainty in the existence of more details about Epstein.

The announcement has seen support for the president seemingly dropping off, with the likes of former ‘First Buddy’ Elon Musk accusing him of a cover up over the files.

Speaking of his faltering support in the wake of the backlash, Trump posted on Truth Social: “What’s going on with my ‘boys’ and, in some cases, ‘gals?’

“They’re all going after Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is doing a FANTASTIC JOB!”, he added, complaining he doesn’t ‘like what’s happening’.

“We have a PERFECT Administration, THE TALK OF THE WORLD, and ‘selfish people’ are trying to hurt it, all over a guy who never dies, Jeffrey Epstein,” he finished.

But not just the ‘boys’ and ‘gals’ he should be worried about, based on the results of this new poll.

The poll, conducted by YouGov and The Economist from July 11 to 14, reveals most Americans believe Trump is involved in a ‘cover up’ over the truth around Epstein.

After crunching the numbers, it was found that a whopping 67 percent of Americans believe the government is hiding evidence related to sex offender Epstein.

The disgraced financier died by suicide in his New York prison cell in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal charges of sex abuse involving minors.

Just eight percent of respondents to the poll said they believe the government is not covering up evidence about Epstein.

Some 25 percent admitted they were ‘unsure’.

It comes in the wake of the memo which was released by the Department of Justice (DoJ) and the FBI, spanning two pages.

The memo confirmed Epstein died by suicide, contrary to the many conspiracy theories doing the rounds, and also confirmed that the long-rumored ‘client list’ doesn’t exist.

For years, theorists have put forward that there is a little black book of client names who visited the so-called ‘Epstein Island’ and took part in sexual abuse.

The rumored list is said to contain the names of the rich and famous, celebrities and politicians.

The memo said: “There was also no credible evidence found that Epstein blackmailed prominent individuals as part of his actions.”

Former supporters of Trump like Joe Rogan have slammed the revelation, pointing out that Attorney General Pam Bondi had previously claimed the list was ‘sitting on my desk right now to review’ when questioned by Fox News.

“They’ve got videotape and all a sudden they don’t,” he questioned on the latest episode of The Joe Rogan Experience.

“Why’d they say there was thousands of hours of tapes of people doing horrible s***? Why’d they say that? Didn’t Pam Bondi say that?”

Bondi has since walked her statement back, saying she meant she had a generic ‘Epstein file’ on her desk, not a list specifically.

Elsewhere in the poll, respondents were asked if the government should release all documents relating to the Epstein case.

A whopping 79 percent said it should, with a mere five percent saying no, while 17 percent were unsure.

Meanwhile, Trump has been hitting back at the press for asking questions about the Epstein files.

He replied to one reporter: “Are you still talking about Jeffrey Epstein? This guy’s been talked about for years.

“I mean, I can’t believe you’re asking a question on Epstein at a time like this, where we’re having some of the greatest success and also tragedy with what happened in Texas. It just seems like a desecration,” he said, talking about the recent campsite flooding which claimed the lives of many children.

He also defended Bondi again, saying it was up to her to release ‘whatever she thinks is credible’.

Musk has continued to turn on his former friend, sharing a post saying: “He said ‘Epstein’ half a dozen times while telling everyone to stop talking about Epstein.

“Just release the files as promised.”
