Ex-Secret Service Agent Dan Bongino Says He’s ‘Growing Concerned’ About Trump’s ‘Safety’

When a former Secret Service agent publicly warns about a former president’s safety, it attracts serious attention. Dan Bongino, who protected presidents from both political parties for more than a decade, recently expressed concern about the safety of Donald Trump. His warning is not political exaggeration but the perspective of someone trained to evaluate real threats and understand how political tensions can increase risk. According to Bongino, the current climate presents multiple overlapping dangers that security professionals recognize as particularly serious.

Bongino pointed to four major sources of risk: hostile foreign actors, domestic extremists influenced by intense political rhetoric, institutional hostility within parts of the federal system, and a security environment shaped by political pressure. Each of these factors alone would require strong security attention, but together they create a complex and potentially dangerous situation. This combination of internal and external pressures increases the importance of careful, nonpartisan protective measures.

Foreign threats remain a major concern. Iran has continued to show hostility toward Trump after the 2020 military strike that killed Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. China is also seen as having strategic reasons to oppose Trump’s potential return to power because of his policies on trade and technology. In such situations, even a single individual or group exploiting a small security weakness could create serious consequences, making constant vigilance necessary.

Domestic tensions also contribute to the overall risk. Years of intense political rhetoric and public hostility toward Trump have created an environment where extreme views can become normalized. Bongino also warned about the dangers of politicizing security decisions, emphasizing that the Secret Service must base protection strictly on threat assessments rather than political considerations. Ultimately, his warning highlights the need to preserve institutional integrity and ensure that the safety of national leaders remains a nonpartisan priority. READ MORE BELOW
