Jamie Lee Curtis Shares Candid Thoughts on Kirk

Actress Jamie Lee Curtis made heartfelt remarks during a recent interview on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast, reflecting on the tragic killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk on September 10 in Utah. Kirk, 31, lost his life during a public event, and the FBI has confirmed that the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.

Curtis expressed sympathy for Kirk’s family and acknowledged the emotional impact of such violence. While noting that she strongly disagreed with Kirk’s political views, she emphasized his humanity. She described him as a “man of faith” and hoped that, in his final moments, he felt spiritually connected.

Curtis stressed that, despite differing opinions, Kirk was a father, husband, and person deserving of compassion. During the interview, Curtis accidentally referred to Kirk by the wrong name—Charlie Crist—but clarified that it was a genuine mistake. She reflected on how the incident had weighed heavily on her, prompting consideration of the effects of repeated exposure to violent imagery in modern society.

Curtis highlighted the psychological toll of seeing graphic media and national tragedies online and emphasized the need to be mindful of its impact. Other public figures, including Chris Pratt, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Jake Paul, also expressed condolences. Former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama released statements condemning the violence. Tyler Robinson, 22, has been identified as the primary suspect and remains in custody.
