What a ‘Bleach’ Patch Really Means

If you’ve ever noticed light patches or discoloration on your clothes after washing, you might be wondering what’s causing it. This phenomenon is more common than you think, and the reason behind it is surprisingly natural. The cause isn’t your detergent or washing machine—it’s your body.

According to a health expert known as “The Vag Doc” on TikTok, this so-called “bleaching” effect is due to the natural acidity of your body. The body maintains a balance of helpful bacteria that supports overall health, and the acidity created by this balance can unintentionally lighten the fabric of your clothing, especially in areas that come into direct contact.

The good news is that this is completely normal and often means your body’s balance is in a healthy state. “A healthy body can sometimes cause this effect, so there’s no need to worry,” explains The Vag Doc. Not everyone will notice this effect, and that’s okay too. If your body’s balance is slightly different, you might not see any changes in your clothes.

Additionally, the type of fabric and the dye used in the clothing can also influence how noticeable the effect is. However, if you notice any significant changes in your body’s natural processes, it’s always a good idea to consult with a healthcare provider to ensure everything is functioning properly.
