Donald Trump reacted sharply to news that Greta Thunberg was detained by Israeli forces aboard a humanitarian aid boat bound for Gaza. Thunberg claimed she was “kidnapped” when Israeli military intercepted the vessel in international waters, sparking international debate.

Trump dismissed her claim, calling her “a strange, young, angry person” who needs anger management. He expressed disbelief over the “kidnapping” accusation.

The Freedom Flotilla Coalition, which organized the aid boat, condemned the interception, saying Israel violated international law by seizing supplies intended for Gaza, where a blockade has caused a severe humanitarian crisis with over 54,000 reported deaths since 2023.

Israel is preparing to deport Thunberg and other activists from the ship. The Israeli Foreign Ministry called the passengers safe and unharmed, while Thunberg posted an emotional message condemning the ongoing violence in Gaza and urging global solidarity.
