Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s attempt to mock President Donald Trump’s military parade commemorating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army sparked backlash on social media. Conservatives and other critics accused her of showing “utter contempt” for the U.S. military, while others criticized her for spending the weekend in the Hamptons attending her former aide’s wedding while publicly attacking the president.
“This witch was a few votes away from becoming commander in chief. This is what she thinks of our military. Man, @BuzzPatterson was right. Hillary hates the troops,” conservative X commentator Benny Johnson posted in response to Clinton’s post Sunday.
Clinton posted side-by-side photos comparing President Trump’s military parade, held Saturday evening on Washington’s Constitution Avenue. The event drew national attention, as protesters across the country staged “No Kings Day” demonstrations in response, not only to the parade itself, but also to the Trump administration’s continued deportation raids in left-leaning cities.
