The asteroid that could hit Earth in 2032 has the world on edge: which countries could it impact?

 

Called YR4, it was detected by a telescope in Chile and triggered a global alert from the UN to increase monitoring and determine its trajectory. Experts explain the key aspects of tracking it and what consequences an impact on Earth would have.

 

What began as a simple sighting has now become a global alert. It concerns asteroid 2024 YR4, detected at the end of last year, which initially seemed insignificant. But as the days passed, it captured the attention of the scientific community and the public due to its potential risk of impacting Earth in 2032.
