Charlie Kirk’s wife, Erika Lane, shared a chilling post just hours before she witnessed her husband’s brutal death.
MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, 31, was shot dead on Wednesday evening (September 10), at a university campus event in Utah.
Footage of the brutal attack has circulated on X, formerly Twitter, depicting the moment a loud bang was heard.
Kirk was violently struck in the neck before collapsing in his chair, and blood was seen pouring from the wound.
His wife, Erika Lane Frantzve, 36, and their two small children, were present at the event.
They witnessed the father-of-two utter his final words, before his security team rushed in an attempt to save his life.
President Trump later confirmed his death on social media.
The statement read: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.
“He was loved and admired by ALL, especially me, and now, he is no longer with us.
“Melania and my Sympathies go out to his beautiful wife Erika, and family. Charlie, we love you!”
Investigations into the shooting are ongoing, and US authorities are working with the FBI to locate and arrest the perpetrator.
But just hours before her husband was shot dead, Frantzve shared a touching post on social media.
Attention has turned to the nature of the post, which some have now branded ‘eerie.’
The mom-of-two shared a Bible verse prior to the assassination which became even more poignant afterwards.
Just two hours before the shooting, she wrote: “Psalm 46:1 – God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
Users have since flooded Frantzve with their condolences, as one person wrote: “Jesus is holding you in his warm embrace. We are heartbroken.”
“The fact that you posted this before the event, is a testament of the Lord,” another added.
The couple got married in 2021, after they met three years earlier.
Frantzve and Kirk welcomed two children; a daughter born in August 2022, and a son born in May 2024.
FBI Director Kash Patel has said: “Our investigation continues, and we will continue to release information in the interest of transparency.”
It is currently unknown whether police have leads on the gunman.
